The Moment

Something in me
you don't know
Not a victory to keep a secret
just unknown

Sadness turns nauseous
cramps, lethargy
Nothing gives peace
Breathe ghosts in
like yesterday

A runaway            sketched
Time squeezed            touched by curves
grey sleep

I believe
starlit sky
an entryway
no distance
freedom for together
is our friend

Never Mind the Journey

Silver birch leaves, tatty allotments
gathered bundles of fallen twigs
grass and weeds, random fences
foals and horses

Pigs scrub in a track-side scrapyard
sheep chew grass, buzzards hover
grey clouds mass over grey hills

Feel the pull of the brakes
