in this street full of shoppers

I know they can tell
but you hope the general level of noise
will distract attention away
elsewhere

by the time I've finished this circuit
my thoughts will be different
for a while

but my legs are tougher.

Charting the price of coffee –
€1.80 to €3.80 –
pisses me off,
but only a little.

It's a holiday,
and we had our own crackers and veg paté in the park,
didn't buy lunch,
so it balances out.
